We’re so excited about the 10-week programme we’ve built here in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Our doors are now open and accepting male and female adolescents and young adults, ages 13 to 25*, from all over the world.
*Note: we will accept clients over 25 years old if they are a fit for our programme.
Highlights of The Wave
Our highly individualized programme addresses psychiatric, behavioral health and substance use disorders while meeting the unique needs of young people. Clients will have opportunity to improve in every area of their life: family relationships, friendships, education, etc.
We combine experiential and adventure-based therapy with conventional evidence-based practices. Here are just a few of them:
- Trauma Therapy
- Family Therapy
- Multigenerational Therapy
- Systemic Therapy
- Art Therapy
- Solution Focused Therapy
Small, Nurturing Environment
Clients will feel safe and seen in our small, well-staffed setting. They will get to learn to live life in a different way and find out who they are and who they want to be. Clients will also get to experience fun activities and see life can be exciting without substances.
Located just a short drive from Kuala Lumpur International Airport and the city center, The Wave is easy to get to. Education resources abound so clients can continue their education locally (or online). Kuala Lumpur also has plenty of lodging options for families who would like to participate in the programme.
Being an international programme, we want to ensure clients’ needs are met and they feel welcome. We have both Arabic and English speaking staff. Our nutritionists can fulfill requests and preferences, such as gluten-free, meat-free, and Halal. We are multi-faith; we have access to the local mosque and provide the space for clients to observe Muslim traditions.
The family gets to come and be a part of treatment during week 5 and week 10 of the programme. They can also come for the entire programme if needed. We believe in devoting our therapeutic services to the family as a whole.
